than 600,000 individuals who lived in New York between 1675 and 1920. It indexes
a broad range of New York records including passenger lists, land records, city
directories, and census records. This index helps you locate a particular individual

With the information provided by this data collection, you should be able to
find your ancestor in other records of genealogical value that are not necessarily
included in this index.

the Genealogical Research Library under the supervision of Noel Elliot. Many of
the source documents are available in their collection.
Please note: The original data from which this product was compiled may incorrectly list the 1932 issue of The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record as the source for some records. The correct source is Index to Marriages and Deaths in the New York Herald by James P. Maher.
