World Family Tree Contributor Contact Information Service

Welcome to the World Family Tree Contributor Contact Information Service! The goal of this service is to make it easier for distant relatives to get in touch with each other by providing contact information for World Family Tree contributors. We hope that eventually they can consolidate their efforts to trace their common family lines.

Important Notice: The World Family Tree Contributor Contact Information Service is provided as a courtesy to purchasers of World Family Tree CDs and/or World Family Tree Online subscriptions. Neither this service nor the information it provides may be used for commercial purposes or by those who have not purchased a World Family Tree CD or do not have an active World Family Tree Online subscription. The publication, distribution, or sale of any data provided by the Contributor Contact Information Service is prohibited, whether on paper or in electronic form. By contributing a query, you indicate that you understand and accept these usage limitations.

World Family Tree Contributor Contact Information is currently available for World Family Tree Volumes 1 through 194.

Instructions:

If you are a current World Family Tree Online subscriber, please log in first so that we can verify your subscription.

To request a contributor's name and address, fill out the form below. Be sure that all fields are filled in correctly to ensure that you receive the information you want.

Enter your name, including at least your first and last names.
Enter your street address, city, state or province, zip or postcode, and country.
Enter your e-mail address. Because we send the contributor information via e-mail, you will not receive it if your e-mail address is incorrect.
(Optional) Enter your telephone number, including your area code (and country code if you don't live in North America).

World Family Tree Contributor Contact Information Service

Welcome to the World Family Tree Contributor Contact Information Service! The goal of this service is to make it easier for distant relatives to get in touch with each other byHEIGHT="99" ALIGN="RIGHT" ALT="Photo of CD-ROM with ID circled">CD ID: The CD ID is located in the lower right corner of the case that holds your World Family Tree CD (or on the back of the CD folder if you have a multi-CD set). Alternatively, the ID may also be found stamped in or near the silver circle at the center of the CD (see diagram at right). The ID may be a seven-digit number that begins with "6", a five-digit number (with 2-letter suffix) that begins with "07", or one of several codes that begin with "W", "WFT", "WSB", "FV", or "FSB".

For each contributor that you are requesting, enter the following information. You can ask for up to three names and addresses at a time:

WFT Volume Number: Enter the number of the World Family Tree Volume containing the tree that interests you. For example, if the tree is on Volume 25, enter "25".
Tree Number: Each family tree in the World Family Tree has a unique identification number. This number can be found in the "Tree #" column next to each individual in the index on the World Family Tree CD.

After filling out the form, click the Continue button at the bottom of this page.

Next, you will see a Web page that asks you a basic question, such as "What color is the sky?" This is not a trick question! Simply type in the answer. We ask these questions to prevent commercial enterprises, such as direct mail marketers, from using a computer to automatically download all of the contributor addresses at once. This works because human beings can answer these simple questions, but computers cannot.

After answering the question, click the Submit Request button.

Finally, you will see a Web page confirming that we have received your request and explaining that you will receive the contributor information via e-mail.
