| I have extensive information on the Cargile, Cargill, Cargal of the South and Southwest. Anyone interested in sharing their background with me, please do so. The Cargill name is derived from Perthshire, Scotland. The Cargill parish still exists in Perth, Scotland. I have contributed much of the information I have gathered in the book,"Cargill/Cargile/Cargal of the South and Southwest," compiled by Patty Myers, 15 Campden Circle, San Antonio, TX 78218. It's an extensive book and really sheds light on our family history. The Cargill surname is also identified with Clan Drummond. We were septs. of Clan Drummond. I am editor/vp for the Clan Drummond Society of North America. We publish a quarterly newsletter. Membership is $15 yearly to cover cost of printing and mailing. To become a member send $15 to Charles McRobbie, 6 Bernard Lane, Methune, MA 01844. I am also researching Parsons, Duke, Hollars, Hubbard. John W. Cargile, PH.D |
