I am researching the following surnames: ADAMS, BACK, BOATRIGHT, CAUDILL, DIXON, FRAZIER, JONES, KINCER, MAGGARD and WEBB. Most of these families were originally from Virginia and migrated into southeastern Kentucky.
My Paternal Line:
I descend from Stephen CAUDILL, the son of James Sr. and Mary (YARBOROUGH?) CAUDILL. Stephen married Sarah ADAMS, d/o Benjamin and Henrietta (CAUDILL) ADAMS, and they had a son, Jesse B. CAUDILL. Jesse married Mary "Polly" BACK, d/o Henry and Susannah (MAGGARD) BACK, and they had a son, Henry CAUDILL. Henry married Barilla JONES and they had a son, William M. CAUDILL. William married Etta B. DIXON, d/o James C. and Evelyn (BACK) DIXON. William and Etta were my grandparents.
My Maternal Lines:
* My grandmother, Sarah "Elizabeth" BOATRIGHT, was the daughter of Henry Clinton and Doshie (ADAMS) BOATRIGHT. Doshie was the daughter of George W. and Sarah Elizabeth "Betty" (KINCER) ADAMS. Henry Clinton was the son of Granville Henderson and Sarah Ann (TAYLOR) BOATRIGHT.
* My grandfather, Enoch Flanery FRAZIER, was the son of Joseph and Nannie (WEBB) FRAZIER. Joseph was the son of Solomon and Sarah (FIELDS) FRAZIER. Nannie was the daughter of Enoch Wiley "Dutch" and Rachel (ADAMS) WEBB.
I would like to hear from you if you are researching any of these families. I would especially like to hear from you if you have any information on a John H. JONES who was born on 10/1/1843, in Scott County, VA, and died on 6/8/1930 in Roxana, Letcher County, KY. He was the father of my great grandmother, Barilla JONES, who married Henry CAUDILL.
