* The Monte George Family Home Page*

Updated September 11, 2005

Benjamin GEORGE was born about 1775, probably in North Carolina. In 1820, he was living in Lincoln County, Tennessee. By 1830, he had moved with his family to Haywood County, Tennessee. About 1842, his family moved from Haywood County, Tennessee, to Izard County, Arkansas. Benjamin was still alive in 1840 and may have moved to Arkansas with his family two years later. We do know that he died sometime between 1840 and 1850. The exact relationships between the members of his family group are not certain, and the descendency chart below makes some educated guesses about those relationships.

Other lines on my father's side of the family include:

RIGDON: Maryland > North Carolina > South Carolina >
Alabama > Mississippii > Louisiana

ALEXANDER: Virginia > South Carolina > Alabama

My home page also has information about the Belgium branch of my mother's family. My 3d great grandparents, Nicolas Joseph GRUSLIN and Marie Theresse COLLIGNON immigrated from Suxy, Belgium, to Carbondale, Pennsylvania, in 1852. In addition to information about my direct ancestors, this page contains much information about residents of the villages of Suxy and Chiny who may or may not be related.

Any information would be appreciated. I am willing to share the information I have.
