Hello, I am researching the Neeley/Neely Family.Joseph Neeley married Elizabeth Houston.Their first children were born near Nashville 1794,1796. They migrated to Pike County, Illinois by 1818. Elizabeth and her sons settled in Grimes County Tx starting in the 1840's. I believe Joseph was the son of Samuel Alexander Neely. Alexander's estate was settled in 1796 leaving land in Sumner county to his sons William, Joseph and deceased son's John children James and Alexander. Samuel Alexander was killed by Indians at Bledsoes Lick in 1790 now Sumner County, Tn. Alexander had lived on the New River in Va around Ft. Chiswell. Alexander was a Long Hunter and traveled with Daniel Boone exploring kentucky in 1769. He married Elizabeth Montgomery.I am interested in all branches of the family. Let's work together!I am also doing research on related families: Montgomery, Houston, Bledsoe, Meredith, Baker, Blackmore, Mize, McWhorter, Glenn, Thornton, Jackson, Francis, Schrader, Walker, Harris..... |
