We are currently concentrating on the Henderson and the McNeil surnames.

Henderson

The Hendersons are in Conecuh Co., Alabama where they immigrated from South Carolina. The primary name is:

Daniel R. HENDERSON, born abt 1813 in SC. He married Sarah Elizabeth TIPPINS in AL.

McNeil

The McNeils moved from SC to Franklin Co., GA. Later they were listed in Jackson and Hall counties, but this change was probably due to changing county lines rather than relocation. From there they moved to Floyd Co., GA and then Smith Co., MS. Next they went to Bossier Parish, LA and then to Lafayette Co., AR. Portions of the family continued to move to TX, OK, AZ, CA, and WA.

The primary name is:

Henry MCNEIL, born 1796 in SC; died probably in MS. He married Nelly GUNTER, born 1797 in SC, March 3, 1816 in Jackson Co., GA. We have determined that his mother is Lucy McNeil who married Michael Walden (Walling) in Franklin Co., GA in 1807. His father appears to be Daniel McNeil who probably died between 1803 and 1807.

In an effort to locate more descendants of this line we have included a report on Descendants of Daniel McNeil. Please note that Daniel and his descendants are listed under many different spellings of McNeil. In GA it was McNeal. In MS it was McNeil. In LA it was listed as McNeel, and in AR McNeil surfaced again. In TX I found McNeill.
