My Hudsons immigrated from England to Virginia in 1635. Early generations lived in Accomack, Henrico, and Amelia Counties in Virginia. By the early 1800s these Hudsons were living in Franklin County, Alabama. In 1845 my great grandfather, Benjamin Wesley Hudson, married his first wife in Alabama, and she died in 1850 in Bradley County, Arkansas. Later that year, he was back in Franklin County, Alabama, where he was married three more times. The family lived there until just after Benjamin's death in 1881, then moved to Texas, to the Wynnewood, Oklahoma area, then finally to Bradley County, Arkansas, where I grew up. Other key surnames I am researching (almost all Arkansas-based) are Carraway, Clements, Harrelson, Huitt, Wilkinson, and Williams. My wife's primary lines are Anderson, Lubbes, Parker, Bledsoe, and Bristow. See reports and links below. |
