Our ancestors migrated to New England on the Mayflower and with the Massachuetts Bay Colony, and from Ireland and France. I have divided the family into 4 sections- Dupee - Purdon - Bartlett - Benkard. The names I am researching are in the Dupee family, Dupee, English, Hawes, Baldwin and Plympton. In the Purdon family, Purdon, Boyle, Rogers, Derby, Coffin, Bromfield and Foster. In the Bartlett family, Bartlett, Willard, Post, Minturn, King, Arnold, Buffum and Chapin. In the Benkard Family, Benkard, Horton, Robinson, Barnes, Kenney, Robinson and Buchan.
All but the Benkard family settled in Massachuetts and New England area. The Benkard settled in upper New York State. Some of the Purdon family settled in Penn. They were Quakers. The Dupees were Hugenots and migrated to Oxford Mass.
I would be delighted to share any information that might be helpful and I would be grateful for any information on these families, particularly Benkards.
Please contact me via e-mail. Thank You
