The Klukas Family came to the U.S. in the late 1800's from Lubeck, Germany. My Greatgrandfather was Gustav or Gust Klukas, my grandfather was Adolf Edward Klukas. He married Anna Erna Sonntag (or Sontag)
I am also descended from the Maryland Sedwicks. I have been able to confirm my 4th great grandfather, GEORGE COOK SEDWICK. It is believed he was the son of JOSHUA SEDWICK and JOSHAN MANNING of Maryland. My 3rd greatgrandfather was JOSEPH HOLDEN SEDGWICK (note the spelling change). He married MARY E. DOAN in Indiana. He was one of the first teachers (and a founder?) of Dennison University in Granville, Ohio.
My second great grandmother was CORA DYKINS HARDY of Lexington, Scott County, Indiana. Her great grandfather, Dr. JONATHAN HARDY was one of the original families to settle in Lexington. I have copies of all the volumes on "The Hardy Family In America" by John A. Hardy. Jonathan was married to ELIZABETH COCHRAN (her father, JAMES COCHRAN fought in the American Revolution). I have a reproduction of her Memoirs.
Other names connected to Sedgwick are Smith, Cutshaw/Cutshall, Dare, Bailey, Jackman, Cochran, Knowlton and Calcott. This tree contains over 7500 names and keeps growing!
The Schueler's came to the U.S. as Russian immigrants in 1913, from Ecatrinistadt or Ekatrinistadt. They were Germans from Russia. Any information you may have would be greatly appreciated. If I have any information you would like, just e-mail me
