Uriah Matson arrived in this country in August 1786 aboard the ship NANCY from Ireland. On board were his wife Isabelle, daughter Susan and two sons, John and Isaac. They lived for two years in Chester Co. and then migrated west to Indiana Co.where he bought 350 acres of land. The families settled in Jefferson and Clarion County's.
