Welcome to my Home Page!
Lots of information here on the BALCH,RUDDELL,MOREY/MOWRY families as well as related families from Colonial America.

I have been trying to trace families of wives on both sides - need information on 1) Susan David, dau. of William David, emigrated from Germany? (RUDDELL) 2) Winifred (Kelly) Hicks-Crogan (or Croghan or Grogan) (RUDDELL) 3) Who was Maurice O'Brien's family in Ireland?

The MOWRY/MOREY tree is updated as of 1/22/1999 - most is from The Descendants of Nathaniel Mowry, Arnold's Vital Records of Rhode Island (Providence County and Washington County) and information from some online genealogies. Let me know if you see anything that needs correcting. It is still a large work in progress.

The John Ruddell line is updated as of 4/10/1999. Information comes from three books on the Ruddells (Barb, Smutz and Harman) plus some from the LDS International Genealogical Index (IGI) and family reunion publications on the Ruddells in Washington. Please send me any additions or corrections you have verification for - with so many siblings using the same names for their children this family is easily mixed up!

The descent of my great-grandfather, Augustus Balch, from John Balch of Massachusetts now appears at a second site - see the link below.

Of my father's four grandparents, three trace back to New England in the 1630's (Balch, Morey/Mowry, Slawson) and the fourth, Ruddell, to the early 1700's. At this point there are some speculative ties from each ancestor to family in England or Ireland but nothing solid in the way of birth or baptismal records. Any input on these would be greatly appreciated!
