Barns/Barnes; Aaron Barns came from Sharon, Litchfield Co., CT to Mentz/Aurelius, Cayuga Co., NY after 1810 and before 1820. Family included wife Martha (Eggleston) and seven children, including Jeffrey Samuel and Thomas. Thomas brought wife and seven children from Seneca Falls, Seneca Co., NY to Jackson, MI, in 1843. Jeffrey Samuel and family settled in Branch Co., MI.
-Blysse/Bliss; Thomas Blysse came to America from England in 1636 after his father Jonathan, a Puritan, died in prison. Thomas was one of founders of Rehoboth, MA , a religious colony. His descendant Samuel brought the family from Rehoboth to Galen, Wayne Co., NY. Samuel's descentant Sidney Bliss brought the family to Calhoun Co., MI in 1866.
-Cassner/Casner/Castner; William Cassner born in NJ late 18th century and settled at Milo, in Yates Co., NY. Married Sarah Welter, born in Morris Co., NJ as were her parents. They brought family to St. Johns/Ovid area, Clinton Co., MI, mid-1800s; began spelling name Castner.
-Duncan; William Duncan was weaver in Paisley, Scotland; was husband of Mary Wilson, daughter of Alexander "Saunders" and Mary (McNab) Wilson of Paisley, and sister of Alexander "Sandy" Wilson the Ornithologist. Children included Isabella Duncan, who came to America in 1797 and married John McNelly.
-Eggleston; Martha Eggleston, wife of Aaron Barns, was a daughter of Samuel IV and Hester (Buck) Eggleston of northeast Dutchess Co., NY.
-Hood; George, William, John, Robert, Andrew, Elizabeth and Mary were children of John Hood, Sr., of Turbot Twp., Northumberland Co., PA. After John, Sr. died, the Hoods emigrated to Romulus/Fayette, NY. Robert's son James married Catharine McNelly. They moved to Novi, Oakland Co., MI in 1835.
-Hubbard; Helen M. Hubbard, born Moravia, Cayuga Co., NY, married Sidney E. Bliss of Galen, Wayne Co., NY; settled in Calhoun Co., MI, with family 1866. Her parents were Adam F. and Mary (McClean) Hubbard.
-Keys/Keyes; Pownall, Vermont, to E. Bloomfield, NY, from where Lyman Keys brought his family to Cambria, Niagara Co., NY. Son Orlando married Lucinda Shook; family came to Michigan mid-1800s; there, began spelling name Keyes.
-McClean; Mary McClean of NY was wife of Adam F. Hubbard, and was Helen M. Hubbard's mother. Mary's parents were William and Susan McClean of Moravia, NY.
-McNelly/McAnnelly; John McNelly came from Ireland about 1798 to Pennsylvania; there, marrying Isabella Duncan of Paisley, Scotland, 1799; family settled at Ovid, NY, then Pulteney, NY. John died in War of 1812. Daughter Catharine married James Hood.
-Page/Paige; William Henry Page, Sr. was born in England and settled near Webster, Monroe Co., NY, where he married Chloe (Thayer) Robinson. Son Riley Preston Page first married Elizabeth Hollenbeck in 1859 at Burr Oak, St. Joseph Co., MI. They settled in Branch Co., MI. Riley married second Sarah M. Keyes, 1873, in Eaton Co., MI. Riley divorced Sarah and returned to Webster. He married third Emma (Conant) Wright, 1905, at Webster. They moved to Ontario, Wayne Co., then to East Rochester, Monroe Co., NY.
-Shook; Jonas (a.k.a. Johnathan) Shook married Annah (a.k.a. "Fanny") LaRoche and were parents of Lucinda, who married Orlando Keys in Niagara Co., NY. The Shooks lived in Royalston, Niagara Co., as of 1880. Jonas was a child of Phillip and Mary (Lilly) Shook, originally from PA.
-Sitzer/Sittser; Sarah (Sittser) Barnes's parents were David and Sarah (Mills) Sittser. Her grandfather was Andrew Sitzer or Sittser. Her gr-grandfather, who apparently sailed to America in the early 1700s, returned to Germany to collect an inheritance. He disappeared after boarding the return ship.
-Thayer; William and Chloe (Preston) Thayer family lived in Braintree, MA, where the Thayers had lived since coming to America from England in mid-1600s. William and Chloe settled near Webster, Monroe Co., NY in 1800. Daughter Chloe's second husband was William Henry Page, Sr.
