THE TULSA WORLD, MAY 1950 PIONEER SKIATOOK INDIAN SUCCUMBS --------------------- George Newman, 67, Retired Rancher, Passes After Seizure at Home; Funeral Service Pending --------------------- SKIATOOK, May 22 -- George Newman, 67-year-old retired Indian rancher and a resident of the Skiatook area all his life, died at 2:20 p. m. Monday at this home here. Death apparently was due to a heart ailment and complications. He became critically ill last Tuesday. Survivors include the widow, Martha, of the home; two step-daughters, Mrs. Ray Roberson, 2016 W. Brady St., Tulsa, and Mrs. Earl Park, Skiatook; a step-son, Howard D. Moore, also of Tulsa; a half-brother, Earl Yeargain, mayor of Skiatook, and three half-sisters, Mrs. Estella Park, Skiatook, Mrs. Leona Phyful, Belleville, Ill., and Mrs. Verona Styll, Huntington Park, Calif. Funeral services are pending with the Rogers funeral home here.
