Notes for George Edward Steadman: He served in World War I in the US Army as a Private. He served in France and received an Hororable Discharge on July 10, 1919. George was buried in New Edinboro Cemetery in July 1969. When his wife Virginia died in February of 1992, they would not open the cemetery for burial, therefore his daughters had their mother buried in St. John's Cemetery in Girard, Pa and made arrangements to have his body exhumed as soon as the weather would permit and moved to St. John's Cemetery in Girard, Pa. to rest beside their mother. George died of Bronchogenic carcinoma in the Buffalo Veterans Hospital. George also had a heart murmur. |
