1. ANDREAS1 WOLFF was born July 19, 1746 in Strassberg, Germany, and died June 15, 1803 in Westmoreland Co., PA. He married (1) EVA CATHERINE KREBS August 08, 1769, daughter of JOHANN KREBS and MARIA KRIM. He married (2) CATHERINE Unknown.

Andrew was a native of Germany where he matured, but soon after his majority came to America and married a lady who was also of German birth. They both died in Westmorland County, Penn., where they had settled soon after marriage. He was by occupation a farmer and died, leaving his second wife a widow.
Wolff home place was built in the early 1800`s. Christopher & Rhoda were married 1803. Lydia & Jacob married later and they all lived in Athens City until 1837. When Chris & Rhoda moved to Hocking City and built a home and Jacob and Lydia went to Indiana and stayed.

Andreas Wolff (X) listed on the abjuration list November 11,1764 of the passenger ship "HERO," paying L15 for passage. This informations was found in the PENNSYLVANIA GERMAN PIONEERS Volume I: Strassberger beginning of the family in America. Sailing from Rotterdam, last from Cowes, he arrived in Philadelphia, PA. where he married Eva Catherine Krebs, Crebs on August 8, 1769. Andreas (Andrew) was born July 19, 1746 Strassberg, Germany. Died June 15, 1803 Westmoreland Co. PA. Eva was born in 1736 at New Hanover, PA and died 1785 in Westmoreland City, PA. Their sons, George, Christopher and Jacob came to Athens Co, OH in 1797. Christopher and Jacob married Rhoda and Lydia Dorr, daughters of Captain Mattrew Dorr of Revolutionary war fame as he was with General Washington during the Battle of Saratoga. There are other children also. The Jacob Wolf family moved to Indiana about 1837, they had ten children I believe,. Jacob and Christopher`s sister, Catherine went also and lived with Jacob and Lydia until she died. She is buried in that state.

After the death of Eva Wolff around 1785, Andrew remarried, this time to Catherine (unknown surname), who was a widow with one daughter. The following children were born to Andreas and his second wife:

The following obituary, taken from THE REPUBLICAN,Valparaiso, IN, Thursday, Feb. 6, 1868, concerns Catherine:
Passed from death to spirit life, from the residence of Josephus, Porter County, Indiana, January 28, Catherine Wolf in the 89th year of her age. Aunt Katy, as she was called, was born in the year 1799 on the frontier of Pennsylvania, Westmoreland County; migrated to Athens, Ohio in the autumn 1808, where she remained until 1834 when she took up her residence with a brother in this county.
