Find Family

Hello! Welcome to my home page. I am researching my ancestors, who include:
1) The McKeans of Delaware, 1700s - 1830s. Rachel McKean, sister of James McKean, "first burgess of Wilmington," married John Glasco in 1795. Rachel and John Glasco moved to Washington, DC between 1810 and 1820. The National Archives has the original auction records for John Glasco after his death in the 1820s, of which I have copies. I am still trying to learn the precise connection between Rachel McKean and her brother James McKean to Thomas McKean, "signer" of the Declaration of Independence.

2) The Grubbs of Delaware, 1677 - 1870s. Katherine Jean Grubb married James Glasco in the 1870s. Katherine is the daughter of Lewis C. Grubb, who is the son of James Grubb and Ann Perkins. James Grubb, I believe, was born in 1785 to George Grubb and Susanna Collett. George was the son of Richard Grubb and Mary Dutton. Richard, in turn, was the son of John Grubb and Rachel Buckley. John was the son of John Grubb, who arrived on the Kent in 1677 and settled in Delaware.

3) The Glascos of Delaware, 1700s - 1900s. As mentioned, John Glasco married Rachel McKean in 1795, Old Swedes Church, Philadelphia. Notwithstanding the unusual spelling, I have not been able to learn John Glasco's roots.

4) The Carlsons of Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York, 1890s - present. John Carlson and Hulda Larson both arrived in the U.S. in the 1890s from Sweden and married in 1903. They had seven children. Their oldest, Paul John Carlson, married Ethel Florence Glasco.

5) The Riches of Sussex, England and New York, New Jersey and Illinois, 1800s - present. Ivor William Wesley Rich arrived in New York in 1948. He married Jean Deborah Carlson, daughter of Paul John Carlson and Ethel Florence Glasco (McKean, Grubb, Perkins, McClelland descendent). I am the son of Ivor and Jean.

Major family names include:

Carlson, Glasco, Grubb, McKean, Perkins, Rich.

If you have information on these families or would like to know what I have, please feel free to contact me.
