William married Deanes Baker in 1574 and lived in the vicinity of Chard, in the Parish of Somerset, England. Chard is the most southerly of the county towns of Somerset. There is in the parish church of "Saint Mary the Virgin", which was built about 1296, a mural honoring William Brewer and his wife Deanes Baker. The inscripition below the mural reads ( Spelling exact as on the mural) "Hereby lieth interred (expecting their Saviour) the bodyes of William Brewer of Chard Phisitian & Deanes his wife, who living 40 years in happy wedlock, in full age departed this life she dying in November 1614 & hee 24 day July 1618 having issue only six sonns & five daughters all men and women growne & all comforts to them."
