• Harriet M. Barry Coffey (21 KB)
  Born 28 Apr 1835 in South Carolina, Harriet married Andrew Boyd Coffey in Lafayette County, Mississippi on 17 Aug 1851. She bore 11 children and had several brothers who served in the Confederate Army. Family legend says she made the flag carried by the First Mississippi Regiment in the War Between the States.
• Frank Lugert (24 KB)
  Frank Lugert came from Bohemia (today's Czech Republic) in 1883. He founded the town of Lugert in Kiowa County, Oklahoma after filing for land in the 1901 land lottery opening the Kiowa-Comanche-Apache lands in Kiowa County, Oklahoma. The town is now under the water of Lake Altus, near Altus, Oklahoma. See his picture here and read about his life and the town of Lugert in the file below.
• Emily (or Emmalee) C. Martin Emery (8 KB)
  Emily was born 4 Dec 1845 in Pennsylvania, daughter of quakers, Mahlon Martin and Farinda Meade. She married Samuel Allen Emery and outlived him by 27 years. She lived in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, Texas, Idaho, and Oklahoma. She died in 1927 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she was close to her sons, Louis LeRoy Emery (my grandfather) and Mahlon Martin Emery.
• Lucinda Breazeale Humphries (5 KB)
  Lucinda was born 18 May 1807 in South Carolina. She married Allen Humphries in Alabama 12 Dec 1822 and was the mother of 13 children, to include Ruth Caroline Humphries. Her parents are Joel Breazeale and Rebecca Griffin. She died 25 Jun 1862 and is buried in Clear Creek Cemetery near Oxford, Mississippi, Lafayette County.
• Allen Humphries (18 KB)
  Allen Humphries was born 30 Oct 1800 in Georgia. He and his wife Lucinda Breazeale Humphries had 13 children. He died 7 Jan 1895 in Lafayette County, MS at the age of 95.
• Kathryn (Katie) Malaske Lugert, 1897 (7 KB)
  Katie was born in New York state, ca 1876, soon after her parents, John Malaske (originally Chmieleski/Chmielecki) and Barbara Ostrowski emigrated from Poland. She married Frank Lugert in Perry, Oklahoma Territory, 14 Jan 1895 and with him founded the town of Lugert, Oklahoma in Kiowa County. She died in 1935.
• Ruth Caroline Humphries Collins (6 KB)
  Ruth Caroline Humphries (1829-1912), born in Alabama, died in Lafayette County, Mississippi. She married Dr. Francis Marion Collins, who served in the Civil War as an Assistant Surgeon in the Mississippi 2nd Cav, Co G. Ruth's great grandfather, Joseph Humphries (1745-1811), served in the Revolutionary War.
• Samuel Allen Emery (36 KB)
  Samuel Allen Emery was born 20 Sep 1840 in New York state. He was a banker, merchant and County Treasurer of Marshall County, Iowa. He served in the Civil War in Company A, 22nd Wisconsin Infantry. He lived in New York, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, and Texas. He died 26 Nov 1900 in Beaumont, Texas, and is buried in Liscomb, Iowa.
• Andrew Boyd Coffey (35 KB)
  Andrew Boyd Coffey was born 2 Jun 1818 in North Carolina. He became a planter and wholesaler in Lafayette County, Mississippi. He and his wife, Harriet Barry, raised 11 children, including my great grandmother, Maude Bee Coffey. According to family lore, she got the maiddle name "Bee" because of Andrew's close friendship with General Bee, who gave General Stonewall Jackson the nickname of "Stonewall" at the First Battle of Bull Run, 21 July 1861.
