1.ElizabethHENDERSON1, born 17 June 1792 in Lincoln Co., KY1; died Bef. 1823 in Garrard Co., KY2. She was the daughter of 2. JohnHENDERSON and 3. NancySINGLETON. She married (1) AsaelDAVIS, Jr.2 07 February 1811 in Garrard Co., KY2,3. He was born 03 April 1787 in Garrard, KY4, and died 06 May 1848 in Lancaster, Garrard, KY5. He was the son of Asael DAVIS, Sr. and Martha (Patsy) COOLEY.
Notes for Asael DAVIS, Jr.:
Asael and Elizabeth lived on adjoining farms, so it's not too surprising that they m. Both families may also have gone to the Forks of the Baptist church. Asael certainly did, as he was listed as a deacon, and Nancy's mother's family were Baptist, as well.
Asael remarried probably several years after Elizabeth d., and had about seven more kids. Barbara and Joshua were the only two that were b. to Elizabeth.
When Asael d., he left a will, just as his father had. There was also a sale of goods and a list of the sale is available at the Garrard Co. Historical Society Museum.
Just a few years before Asael d., his children bought a retirement home for their parents, which was in Lancaster, just west of the square. Since Barbara m. and left long before he d., he had already given her land, and land to her children, plus $1,000, so she got no more at the time of his d.
