5. FRANCIS⁵ CRUSER, SR. (JOHN KROESEN⁴ (CRUSER), DERRICK³ KROESEN, GARRET², GARRET DIRCKSEN CROESEN¹ (KROESEN), SR.) was born November 24, 1787 in Pennsylvania, and died June 1866 in Fulton County, Illinois. He married CATHERINE RYNE.

Notes for FRANCIS CRUSER, SR.:
Since there are three Francis Crusers I am identifying them by Francis, Sr., Francis, Jr. and Francis III. (father, son and grandson).

Francis, Sr. was a veteran of the "War of 1812". He moved from Pennsylvania to Licking County, Ohio and married Catherine Ryne. They had at least four children, all born in Ohio. Francis, Jr or "Frank", Hiram, Abraham and Sarah.

By 1850 the elder Francis Crusen and wife, along with the three sons mention above, had settled in Fulton County, Illinois. The U.S. Census of that year showed that Francis, Sr. and wife were living with their son Francis, Jr. in Canton Twp. Illinois. It is known for certain that Abraham arrived in Fulton County in 1849 and the rest of the family may have come with him.

	iv.	SARAH J. CRUSER, b. 1832; m. SAMUEL SIGLER.
