The Weiford Family Home Page

This home page is dedicted to researching and compiling information on the Weiford family. Two brothers, Joseph and Johannes Jorg (George) arrived at the Port of Philadelphia, from Germany, aboard the Friendship in 1754. Little information is known about Joseph after his arrival. George Weiford my g/g/g/g/g grandfather settled in the Staunton Va. area. The name Weiford is believed to originally came from Weiffert or Weissert. Upon arrival the name has been spelled various ways complicating research. Variations include Wiford, Weyford, Weighford, and Weiffer.
George Weiford had 7 children:

1. Margaret Weiford married David Rodefer
2. Mary Polly Weiford married William Catton
3. John Weiford married Polly Grove
4. George Weiford married Mary Bevin
5. Anthony Weiford married Mary Miller
6. Jacob Weiford married Catherine Tingley
7. Elizabeth Weiford married John Giles, John Galbraith.

I am interested in information on the Rodefers, Cattons, Giles and Galbraith.
