Vital Records
These CDs contain information about major events such as births, marriages, divorces, and
deaths. Vital Records typically provide:
full names of individuals involved
date of the event
county, state, or town
Some of these CDs include other sources such as tax lists, probate records, and land records.
What you find in a vital record depends on the original source. Marriage records often give the names and birthplaces
of each individual's parents; divorce records usually list the names of the couple's children; and death certificates
often mention where the individual will be buried, along with the name of the individual who reported the death. |
