For years we had known my grandfather, Cleon Morgan COX, had another family, but we did not know where to look for them. On November 7, 1998, I had the priviledge of meeting my new Aunts and several new cousins for the very first time. For this I would like to thank Glenn for seeing my original home page and contacting me. THANK YOU GLENN! Cleon's father, Robert S. COX, was born in Raleigh, NC on 10-19-1838 and married Samatha Caroline DODSON on 8-15-1866, in Tuscaloosa Cty., Alabama. Other surnames I am researching are as follows: Gottlob BIGALSKI was born in Poland on 4-18-1844 and later moved to Georgia and married Ella PIERCE Sandiford and had one daughter Anna Louisa BIGALSKI, my grandmother, who married Cleon Morgan COX, in Alabama and had three sons, C. R. Cox, James H. Cox and Charles M. Cox. Daniel (R.S.) CORBITT was born in Barnwell District, SC and married Penny. Berrien Sweat HENDERSON was born 7-25-1805 in Georgia and married (l) Julia Ann Newbern and (2) Martha Ann Davis. He had 14 children from these 2 marriages. I am also looking for information on Vernon PETERSON of Loveland, CO and his wife Joan MEHAN (from Texas). Allied families I am researching include, BENNETT, BEVERLY, MAJORS, MANASCO, MEADOWS to name just a few. I became interested in tracing my family roots in December of 1997, and immediately became hooked. Thanks to cuzn's who were willing to share their time and information already gathered I was able to start my research with a little information "under my belt" so to speak. Thanks to all of them. Baptist preacher in Alabama, this picture was taken from the archives of the First Baptist Church in Jasper, AL, which James founded. Am looking for his daughters children and grandchildren. Floyd and Ruby Corbitt Henderson (75 KB) This photo was taken the summer before Ruby was killed in an auto/train accident in Manor, Ware Cty., Georgia. Rosalie Blount Corbitt 1894-1988 (17 KB) Wife of William Corbitt. This picture was taken ca 1970 just out from Nahunta, GA. Cleon Morgan Cox I (7 KB) Taken in 1932 in Kingsland, Camden Cty., GA. Jim and Lizer Beverly Henderson (89 KB) James Martin (Jr) and Eliza Beverly Henderson. Mother was taking pictures one day and told Granpa Jim to put his arm around Granma. He did, totally unheard of in those days. I refer to him as James Martin, Jr, because in the family bible passed from him, to my grandfather Floyd, then on to my mother Louise, this is how Granpa Jim had entered himself in the bible.
