I am looking for any and all information on Henry ECROYD and any ancestors and decendants of Henry Ecroyd, born 1819 in Lancashire England, and arrived in the USA between 1850-1855. He marriage a Ruth Smith, who at the time was living in Wappingens Falls, New York. Ruth was born in Clitheroe, lancashire, England on July 31, 1932. She had a brother (George Smith) and sister ( Jane Smith) that I know about. Ruth's father was Thomas SMITH.Henry Ecroyd arrived in the USA with his two children by his previous wife (Margaret HAWORTH) born about 1820-1825 in England. Henry and Ruth lived in Philadelphia, PA. where they had 3 boys and one girl. When Henry died in 1864-1865, Ruth gave one child Joseph Ecroyd to her brother George Smith to have and raise. Ruth gave one boy, George Edmund Ecroyd, my grandfather, to her sister Jane Smith Burk/Burke in Louisiana to have and raise. She kept one boy, William Henry Ecroyd, Sr and the girl, Elizabeth Ecroyd to raise. She returned to Wappingens Falls after the death of Her husband to be near her parents.Have not been able to locate any additional information on Henry Ecroyd. No death record nor locaton of Cemetery.George Edmund Ecroyd marriage a Margaret "Maggie" Felicity MARTIN on September 22, 1987 in St Tammany Parish, Louisiana. They had 6 children, where-as only 3 lived. I can not find any information about when or where George Edmund Ecroyd may have died. I know that he was living in McLain, Greene County, Mississippi in 1910 with his wife, son William Ecroyd, son Redic Henry Ecroyd and son Wirt Edmond Ecroyd, but, that is the last confirmed information that I have on him. I know that Redic Henry Ecroyd was living with his mother and two brothers in 1920 in Leaf (Benjo saw mill town) Greene County, Mississippi, but, that is the last confirmed information I have on Redic. No death records any where in Mississippi, Alabama, or Louisiana. No grave headstone has been located on Redic.Elizabeth Ecroyd moved with her step-father to Florida, possible Tallassee, Leon County after her mother died in 1903.William Henry Ecroyd, Sr lived and raised his families in Haverstraw, Rockland County, New York.
