| Captain Samuel Ransom, who died in the Wyoming Valley Massacre, 3 July 1778, had nine children: Sarah (b 23 August 1757) married Timothy Hopkins Samuel (b 28 September 1759) married Mary Nesbitt George Palmer (b 3 Jan 1762) married 1) Olive Utley, 2) Elizabeth Lamoreaux Sybil (b 5 February 1764) married Ira Stephens Esther (b 12 March 1766) Lovisa Laurence (b 26 May 1768) married Arthur Frink William (b 26 May 1770) married Rachel Brooks Mary (b 20 May 1772) married Samuel Franklin Lois (b 20 March 1775) married Stephen BidlackIn 1882, Clinton B. Sears wrote "The Descendants of Captain Samuel Ransom." A family association of descendants of his grandson (Chester and Harriet (Tupper) Ransom) is trying to update that work. Anyone with information on the Descendants of Captain Samuel Ransom is encouraged to contribute.
