West Bloomfield, Waushara County, Wisconsin. July 9, 2001.
August Friedrich Loehrke, my Great Grandfather, was born August 9, 1851 in Posen, Prussia, immigrated to Wisconsin about 1867, farmed in the Town of Saxeville, Waushara County, and died on Christmas Eve, 1902. Wilhelmine Earnestine Behm, my Great Grandmother, was born January 1, 1858 in Rathen, Klampnow, Prussia, came to Wisconsin with her parents and family in 1867, married August Loehrke at Christ Ev. Lutheran Church on May 2, 1878, raised four children, and died August 30, 1912. August and Wilhelmine Loehrke have hundreds of direct descendants.
My name is Steven Herbert Loehrke. Thanks to my half first cousin, Larry Harvey Timm, and with assistance from many relatives, I have researched every branch of my ancestors and my wife's ancestors back to Germany (Prussia). The oldest last names in my family tree include Loehrke, Behm, Dittmann, Pagel, Wegner, Kobiske, Boelter, Yanke (Jahnke), Thews, Stumpner, Anklam, Draheim, Pommerenke, Stoker, Fenske, Budaham, Firks, Velte, Beyer, Zimmerman, Mannke, Kleist, Zuege, Strey, Magdanz, Buchholtz, Oehlke, and Timm. Many descendants still live in Waushara, Waupaca, Winnebago, and Outagamie Counties of Central Wisconsin. With over 4750 connected names in my family tree, my two sons know many of their fifth cousins, and my future grandchildren will have the opportunity to know their sixth cousins.
Please email me at home LLOEHRKE@PITNET.NET or at work ACRES@REALTOR.COM if you have any additional information about my family members or questions about how my family might relate to yours. This family tree is a perpetual project and will not be complete in my life time. Thank you and thanks to Family Tree Maker for providing this great program.
