Research: The focus of my current research in other than Archaeology and Anthropology, is the geneaology and history of "Jefferson Tilton (Thomas) FORD" and his brothers who arrived in north western Arkansas during the late 1820's with the Old Settlers (Chickamauga Band). This was part of the relocation of the Cherokee's in the late 1700-1830's, which was to become known as the "Trail of Tears". And, their part in the historical development of north western Arkansas. The family land was located on the Surgar Creek Township drainage into White River. The land owned by my gg grand uncle is now in the "Pea Ridge National Civil War BattleField". George W. FORD, the son of George Washington FORD is buried in the FORD Cemetary inside the park, along with his wife July. My gg grandfather, Capt. William RUDDICK was the builder and owner of Elkhorn Tavern, the site of the famous Civil War battle known by the Confderacy as the "Battle of Elkhorn Tavern" (Battle of Pea Ridge-as the yankee's call it). The John ROBBINS records date back to 1720,(current information pushes the date even farther back - the spelling changed later. John served with General George Washington at the Battle of Lexington at Concord, where he was wounded, after recoperating he went on to continue serve and was at winter encampment at Valley Forge. For more historical information on my family as well as pictures of the Pea Ridge Battlefield National Park and Elkhorn Tavern, visit my other webpages. As a Living Historian, they are deticated to my educational philosophy, Archaeology, Anthropology, and the Civil War. Also take time to visit my bookstore. I am affiliated with Amazon.com, and my bookstore has books related to Geneaology, History, Education, and the Civil War, but you can browse for books on virtually any subject you wish.
