Family Tree Maker's Genealogy Site: User Home Pages: My Calvert Family Lines in Kentucky and Virginia

Much of the Calvert family research was done by Ella Foy O'Gorman. Ella spent her entire life on this project and published her book "Calvert Family Descendants of Virginia" in 1947, when she was in her 80's. My paticular line I have researched back to my 5th greatgrandfather, Reuben Calvert,who died in the Revolutionary War. After his death his widow, Sarah, and family moved from Virginia to Nelson co., KY. My g.g.g.grandfather Bennett Gray Calvert migrated to Muhlenberg County, KY., where I have found a lot of documentation. In 1849 or 1850 McLean County was formed out of Muhlenberg county. This included the land on Cypress Creek, owned by the Calvert family. I hope this information can help someone else find their family ties. Marriage Bond (382 KB) Marriage Bond between Bennett Gray Calvert and Henrietta Clark. Signed by Thomas Clark and Ellenor Clark. Thomas is Henrietta's father and Ellenor is her sister.
